How to win Pet of the Week
Every week we select a special pet and award it the title "Pet of the Week." The pet of the week will receive 50 points, bragging rights, and have their photo prominently displayed on the front page of the site for a whole week. The winner is chosen based on the overall score rating achieved by the pet and its user in a particular week. A pet's score rating is influenced by the following:
Completeness of profile
- Has the user completed setting up their pet's profile?
- Pets profile picture is required. Scores are awarded for completing each profile field.
Popularity of profile page visits
- How popular is the pet's profile?
- Scores are awarded for each visitor to the pet's profile during the week (eg. 1 visit = 1 score, 100 visits = 100 scores).
- Visits from both members and non-member count towards the visitor score.
Points Earned and User Activity Level
- How active was the pet user?
- Scores are awarded based on the measured activity levels of each user. Points are earned for each content posted, example, points earned for asking or answering questions etc.)
Voting Points Received
- How many positive votes did the pet or user earn?
- This is directly related to the amount and quality of the content posted by each user. The more content you post and the higher the quality of the content posted, the higher the number of positive votes you will receive.
So, how do you win Pet of the Week?
- Complete your profile and keep it up to date, this makes it more interesting and will attract more visitors.
- Invite friends to visit your profile. Get other pet lovers to visit and to become members also, they will more than likely always visit your page and will vote for your content. You will also receive 35 points for each invited member.
- Be active on the site, the more quality post you have, the more visible your pet will be. The more visible your pet is, the more it will be liked and the more positive feedback and page visits you will receive. And of course, points are directly awarded for each activity.
